Funding programmes

Six strategic programmes, one connected system

Each programme below groups related infrastructure work already documented in the Intervention Archive. Budgets and timelines are scoped individually with funding partners rather than published as fixed figures — talk to us about the scale of support that fits your programme.

KIG Project

Waterfront Drive Main Sewerage Pump Station Rehabilitation

The Waterfront Drive Main Sewerage Pump Station is one of the highest-risk points in the town’s sewage infrastructure. A pump failure could result in sewage overflowing into Waterfront Drive and affecting the town.

Fundraising target
R185,000

Before the start of the tourist season

Project Charter: Sewage Infrastructure

Project Overview

The station is designed to operate with two pumps, providing operational reliability and standby capacity. Currently, it relies on a single, ageing pump, leaving the system vulnerable to failure.

One of the highest-risk points in the town’s sewage infrastructure.

Project Objective

KIG aims to raise R185,000 to repair and service the existing pump and reinstate the standby pump, restoring the station’s intended two-pump operating capacity.

Target completion: Before the start of the tourist season.

Community and Business Support

KIG calls on local businesses, residents and other willing sponsors to contribute towards this critical infrastructure project. Your support will help reduce the risk of sewage overflows and protect the town’s public spaces, environment and tourism economy.

To contribute, please contact KIG or visit our website and click on the designated project link to donate directly.

Every contribution brings us closer to a more reliable sewage system for our town.
